We watched a movie and gained entrance into one of the worlds most powerful buildings. We learned much about our nation through this trip including how influencial the congress and senate are in our government.

State of The Union

To the people of The United States of America,
We are in the midsts of a battle and we must come out on top and for that to occur we must come together as one body of people and fight for our rights as American citizens to live in a safe country and have afforable health care for everyone. We must reach across party lines to reach a common goal that we all share. we are all humans and we all care for eachother but we must prove that and we can start by solving both economic and social problems that plague us as a people in this difficult times. We have come along way from a year ago but progress will be slow and will take time and dedication. A few more days of hard work and sweat will yeild the results we are seeking. The State of The Union is good!

WORKERS RIGHTS:
The haymarket strike was a reflection of the time and the people were completely justified to go on strike and fight for their rights to have a fair and good job with conditions that were atleast a little bit better then deplorable. Strikes are a good way to get the attention of a boss and thats what this strike did..infact it gained national attention with the bloody battle that insued after the workes went on strike.

WOMENS RIGHTS:
the right to vote did alot to further womens rights but it wasent everything..durring the 1920s times were difficult for women and they needed to be treated more fairly! women were discriminated against and were not considerd to be a full person.

I HAVE A DREAM:
Dr. MLK Jr's speech was a key part of the movement for equality of black Americans...without him it is very likely that we as a nation would not be as far along as we are today. His "I have a dream speech" was crucial to the advancement of black Americans and it did wonders to liberate the Blacks that have been repressed for hundreds of years.

Mr. President,

I am in agreement with your plan fully, something needs to be done in Afghanastan in regards with a troop surge to combat the rise in violence. I believe that sending 34,000 troops over the next couple months is the way to push back the Tali Ban and their recent "success" in putting up a fight against us. A large scale deployment of thousands of troops is exactly what we need in order to defeat the opposing forces and be successful in our over seas endevors. A more concreat plan would be much appreciated however, troops are tired of waiting to be deployed and the mission needs to be completed in a timely manner.

COMMON SENSE
Thomas Paine
The title very clearly conveys what this paper shows and thats common sense, this paper layed the foundation for government as we know it today. He stood up against the Tirane and taxes that plagued this young new land and proved to the colonists that the monarchy was a evil dictatorship that only cared about the royalty and land over the common man and a quality life for all. This document in my opinion is one of the most important documents in this country's history and with out thomas paine this country would not be the same. He had the courage to step up against the mother country and do what was right for the common good
